The Old Depot

Hal and Mal’s is located in a building that originally served as the NOGN/GM&N Freight Depot, before becoming the hub of meatpacking operations in Mississippi for The Merchants Company. The construction of the old depot was the last project supervised by William J. McGee, who also built St. Peter’s Cathedral and St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Jackson, as well as the Jefferson Davis, Chickasaw, and Perry County Courthouses.
